Structural Design

Drawings that account for
how it gets built.

Over 25 years preparing structural designs for projects ranging from a simple repair through the full design of renovations and new construction. Residential, commercial, industrial and public sector.

A structural drawing is not a piece of paperwork you collect on the way to a permit. It is a set of decisions about load, about what the existing building can actually carry, and about what a crew can build with the access and the budget in front of them.

Michael Damron worked as a construction contractor before he consulted, with experience spanning both residential and commercial markets. This background is why a Damron detail tends to be one that gets built rather than one that generates six RFIs and a change order.

Every scale, one engineer

The same practice that stamps a beam for a kitchen renovation in Winchester also carries elementary schools, VA medical campuses and parking structure restorations. Small scopes are not handed down. You work directly with the principal.

New construction and existing buildings

Existing buildings are the harder problem and the larger share of the work. Field measurement, evaluation of existing conditions, and repairs or retrofits that respect the structure’s actual tolerances.

Bring us the one nobody wants.

The odd span, the building with no drawings, the repair three people have already quoted differently.
